I stayed with girlfriends at the spa for one night in Feb 2010. The spa is on very pretty grounds with beautiful mountain scenery. The spa services are average to below average. The food was great. You CAN drink coffee and wine although the website stated otherwise. The staff is willing to bend over backwards for you. I obviously am saying more good than bad about this place, but for the price we all expected more.
This place is incredible. I've never been treated as well as I was treated at the Jasmine Spa anywhere. I've stayed in luxurious resorts and villas and the the friendly treatment I received from Zahir and Anis Kara was hands down the best. I highly suggest anybody who goes to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic to look Zahir and Kara up for spa treatment at their luxurious 40 acre estate in the mountains. If you do get the full treatment which includes the horseback ride, the massage, and the extremely delicious 5 course meal. Zahir and Anis treated us like nothing less than family, and I'm eternally grateful for the time they provided us with at their spa. It was an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life, and if I ever return to the Dominican Republic, Anis and Zahir will be the first people I'll make an effort to get in touch with!! I highly suggest everybody who goes to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic to look them up because the money for the treatment is extremely finite in comparison to the eternal happiness you receive once you've left!!!! I'm going to write a full review for this place on TripAdvisor, so I'm going to keep my review on this site relatively short. The owners, Anis and Zahir, are two of the most positive, inspirational people I've met in a very long time. They are passionate about life and about helping others, and it shines through their hospitality and service.
Zahir picked my group and me up from our hotel in Sosua on the morning of our half day treatment and stopped along the way so that we could try the most delicious tea. Upon our arrival at Jasmine Spa & Wellness, we were all blown away by the lush beauty of the 40 acres that the spa is built upon. In addition to our AMAZING massage in an outdoor cabana, we indulged in the most delicious 5-course lunch, went horseback riding around the property, and received a very informative tour around the gardens where we learned the best plants/herbs to eat to cure everything from a belly ache to a migraine. Afterwards, Anis and Zahir joined us for a swim and great conversation at Sosua Beach where we ran into some friends we met the day before. We convinced them to book a reservation for the following day, and they've since told me that they enjoyed every moment of their experience as well!
In a nutshell, Jasmine Spa & Wellness is clean, relaxing, and located in the most gorgeous location. The prices are ridiculously affordable, and the service is second to none. Anis and Zahir, keep living your dream, and keep up the good work that you do for your guests and the people of Tubagua!!
